Historical Log Repairs

This 1863 log structure was a good historical log cabin repair project, and they wanted no change to the appearance of the building. Structure just needed to be structurally sound. We replaced rotted logs with 140-year-old same species, same look logs. Re-chinked and re-stained and installed 140-year-old timbers in the interior to help support the walls. The fireplace rock was mud mortar, which was removed, and we installed concrete mortar to repair. We then built ½ doors for public viewing out of the same era wood.
